What You'll Do

As a Senior Product Owner, you’ll play a key role in the definition, development, implementation, and ongoing improvement and enhancement of our solution portfolio in the Microsoft D365 Business Central domain.

As a member of the STAEDEAN Agile Development team, you play a pivotal role as the customer proxy, bridging the gap between Product Management and the development team(s). Your primary responsibility is to translate external requests into a clear and actionable technical roadmap for development. However, your true impact lies in driving the technical delivery of the product roadmap forward, transforming it into well-defined technical and functional delivery items.

Your work ensures that the solution aligns with program priorities—encompassing both features and enablers—while upholding technical integrity. You embody a mindset focused on quality and delivering customer value. Beyond working closely with your colleagues in the R&D organization, you will actively collaborate with critical disciplines across STAEDEAN, including Sales, Delivery, and Customer Operations, to create a seamless and effective development process.

Key Responsibilities:

• Backlog & Iteration Management: Own and maintain the product backlog, prioritizing and preparing work items (defects, requirements).
• Define clear and actionable user stories for the development team. Prepare and refine work for Iteration Planning, coordinating dependencies with other Product Owners.
• Validate and accept completed stories, ensuring they meet acceptance criteria and Definition of Done (DoD).
• Lead Sprint Retrospectives, collaborating with teams to enhance workflows.
• Product & Innovation Strategy:Contribute to the Product Roadmap, translating strategic goals into functional and technical requirements.
• Provide input on innovation and product enhancements, deciding whether features should be part of the standard product.
• Stay updated on customer, market, and technology trends to ensure product relevance.
• Quality & Support: Ensure product quality and fitness for use, guiding engineers and testers from a functional perspective.
• Provide test case support and conduct functional scenario tests.
• Own 2nd and 3rd line defect triage during development and implementation phases.
• Collaborate with teams to produce release notes and documentation.
• Stakeholder & Community Engagement: Represent the product in client and community calls, gathering insights to shape future improvements.
• Conduct product training sessions and demonstrations for internal teams (Development, Sales, Marketing, Delivery, Customer Operations).
• Act as the go-to expert on whether a function should be in the standard product.
• Facilitate knowledge transfer to Delivery and Customer Operations teams for better support scalability.

What You Need to Be Successful (Minimum Qualifications)

• Any full time Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in software engineering or equivalent field.
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner with extensive functional knowledge of Microsoft D365 Business Central.
• Technical knowledge of AL and delivery to Microsoft AppSource is a plus.
• At least basic knowledge of integration-techniques using Business Central as data-repository.
• Microsoft Copilot experience centered around data-integration is a plus.
• Experience in ERP implementation, configuration, and customization and understanding of business processes, including finance, supply chain, and inventory management.
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps or other backlog management tools
• Good skills and knowledge in leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continuous improvement, empowerment and increasing transparency.
• Demonstrated ability to work as a team player, mentor others, and thrive in an international environment.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders.
• Certification as a Product Owner, SAFe, or similar Agile certification is preferred
• Strong planning skills with the ability to dive into details when needed, combined with a proactive, "can-do" attitude.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
